Habitat For Humanity needs volunteers for Altavista “blitz build”

Volunteers and donations still are needed for this weekend’s Habitat for Humanity Double Blitz Build in Altavista.

The organization will build two houses on Saturday and Sunday and still needs to raise about $20,000, spokeswoman Laney Thompson said.

To volunteer or donate, call Executive Director Debi Trossen at (434) 309-2688 or show up at the site, which is located near Franklin Avenue and 14th Street, Thompson said. Work will begin at 8 a.m. both days.
