Liberty University students learn their votes count

Liberty University students turned out by the bus load to vote and are being credited with helping one man get elected.

The precinct where LU students vote was the last to report.

Incumbent Democrat Shannon Valentine was winning the 23rd House of Delegates race over Republican Scott Garrett until those votes were counted.  Then Garrett was declared the winner.

Last year, the Obama campaign pushed for the law change that allows college students to vote where they go to school.

“It’s why the left pushed for student voters because they thought they would all vote their way.“, says Jerry Falwell, Jr.  “Liberty voters were sort of an unintended consequence of that effort.“

WSLS political analyst Dr. Bob Denton tells us that while college students did help get Barack Obama elected, this year they helped many Republicans and not just in Lynchburg.  He says Bob McDonnell won the under 30 vote and many other college towns.
