Salem’s Pinkerton Chevrolet to buy Lynchburg’s Royal auto dealership

Pinkerton Chevrolet of Salem plans to purchase the Royal auto dealership on Graves Mill Road in Lynchburg today.

Pinkerton Chevrolet announced the deal this morning.

Glenn Wood, president of Royal Autos, said Pinkerton Chevrolet is buying GM franchises at the Graves Mill Road location - Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC.

Wood is keeping his location on U.S. 221 in Forest, which he bought from Jim Martin in 2008 and which currently houses his used car business.

He would not comment further because this morning the final paperwork was not signed.

The dealerships are hosting an event today to discuss the deal.
