Speed and alcohol were both factors in a crash that killed an Amherst County man Tuesday night, according to Virginia State Police.
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Paradise Road, near Concord, in Appomattox County.
The victim’s name was not released, pending notification of family members.
The man, identified only as a 25-year-old from Madison Heights, crashed his 2002 Oldsmobile Alero about half a mile north of Virginia 670, according to Sgt. David Cooper.
Cooper said the man lost control of the car in a turn.
He was ejected from the vehicle when it flipped, and was not wearing his seat belt.
He was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he died at about 8:45 p.m.
No one else was in the car, and there were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
