Sweet Briar College swears in 10th president Saturday

SWEET BRIAR, Va. (AP) - Sweet Briar College is holding an
inauguration ceremony for its new president.
    Jo Ellen Parker was sworn in as the college’s 10th president
on Saturday.
    The 55-year-old Parker succeeds Elisabeth Showalter Muhlenfeld,
who retired after 13 years as president of the private women’s
college.
    Parker had previously served as executive director of the
National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education since 2004.
