A controversial book was handed out to students at Virginia Tech today.

The Christian group, Living Waters, distributed 2,000 copies of the 150th Anniversary Edition of Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species.

The book also includes a 50 page introduction by Author Ray Comfort, who is a christian minister and evangelist with the group.

Among other things, Comfort claims Darwin was racist and that he was sexist.

“I kind of oppose that whole deal because I’ve always thought of him as someone really important and someone that’s really made a difference,“ said Virginia Tech Student Jessica Nonn.

Some students disagreed with Comfort’s allegations, while others say they’ll read the entire book and then form an opinion.
