Father of fugitive Jason Davis, urges son to turn himself in

The search continues for a man wanted in robbing a Salem bank last week. Jason Davis is wanted, and now his father is speaking out.

Mug shots are not the types of pictures Garry Davis wants to see of his son, Jason. Instead, Garry gave us happier pictures from childhood to adulthood, in hopes Jason would see them.

“Wherever he’s at, if he hears this, he needs to call me,” said Garry Davis.

Although he does not believe Jason is anywhere near his home, Garry believes Jason is still in the area.

“I just want him to turn himself in and just end all this and just stop it. Think of your kids and think of us. That’s what I want him to do,” he said.

Garry has no doubt his son robbed the bank in Salem.

“I looked at that picture of him at that bank, and it was going through his mind then ‘what am I doing.’” Garry said.

Further investigation showed Davis may be connected to a string of robberies in Tennessee and Marion. But Garry’s not sure if his son is the man seen in a surveillance video from Marion where another robbery occurred. He thinks Jason is traveling with a girlfriend, a person the U.S. Marshals call a person of interest.

“They’ve been together through this whole ordeal, I know for a fact.  I don’t understand why she hasn’t been brought up or her whereabouts,” Garry said.

The U.S. Marshals said Davis’ girlfriend has assisted Davis in the past but they’re not sure if she’s helping him now.

Garry thinks Jason may not know where to go or what to do next.

“He’s scared and he plays out like he’s this tough guy, but you know what, forget he’s my son, he’s still a human and he’s scared.”

In one final plea, Garry said, “People’s worried about him, especially his kids. People are losing a lot of rest.”
