Former Galax nursing home worker guilty in naked pictures case

One of two former nursing home employees, charged with taking naked pictures of elderly residents, is found guilty in connection with the case.

Galax General District Court records show Sharon Walker was convicted of abusing an incapacitated adult on Monday.  The charge is a misdemeanor, and a different one than she originally faced.

Investigators believe both Walker and Livian Crisan took the pictures at the Waddell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center earlier this year, and shared the pictures with others.  However, investigators do not believe the duo posted the pictures on the internet.

The judge in the case sentenced Walker to a year in jail, then suspended the jail time.  Walker must also serve a year of probation, as well as pay a $1,500 fine along with court costs.
