Former nursing home employee arrested for taking pornographic pictures of patients

A 10 On Your Side Crime Tracker update to a story WSLS broke on Wednesday.
According to Galax Police Chief Rick Clark, “an adult protective service worker with the Galax Department of Social Services received an anonymous complaint that employees of Waddell Nursing and Rehabilitation had taken photos of patients without their consent. The photographs were described as pornographic.”
Today, 29 year-old Sharon Ann Walker of Fries was arrested.
Walker is charged with two counts of knowingly and intentionally videotaping or photographing a non-consenting person who was 18 years of age or older when such person was nude or in a state of undress without the person permission.
Walker allegedly shared the pictures with other people, but Chief Clark doesn’t believe they were posted online.
Chief Clark says the crime involved more than one patient at the nursing home and is believed to have happened between April 1, 2009 and July 15, 2009.
Walker was released on bond pending her arraignment in the Galax General District Court.
Clark tells WSLS an additional arrest is anticipated as a result of this investigation.

Well as a family member of one of the victims, I can say that this is truly upsetting. No one should be subjected to this type of violation. Mother, daughter, friend, whatever, the evidence points to someone in need of serious mental help in my opinion to even think up of something like this is signs of sickness in itself.
Sure - innocent until proven guilty, but this had to rise from something. If it’s not true, fabulous - if it is, SICK!
Fact—one of the women “charged with the alleged crime” is a wife, mother, and a hardworker. In this country everyone is innocent until “proven” guilty—right?
I’ve never been inclined to go through the process required to post a comment on WSLS’ website, however, this pushed me over the edge. What is wrong with this woman? How sickening. I am ashamed to live in a world where our older adults are treated like this.
I am shocked everyday by new examples of depravity. Just when I thought I had heard it all, I hear the next one
