Former nursing home employee surrenders license in naked pictures case

A local woman will surrender her CNA license, after police say she took naked pictures of elderly nursing home residents without their permission.

Investigators say it happened back in April at Waddell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galax.

Both Sharon Walker and Livia Crisan were charged in the case.

On Monday, Walker entered a plea.

As part of the agreement, she was found guilty of abusing and neglecting an incapacitated adult, which is a different charge than the one she originally faced.

Walker’s 12-month jail sentence was suspended, but she must pay fines, stay on good behavior and surrender her license as a certified CNA.

Crisan is scheduled to be in court next week to face her charges.
