Man arrested in Blacksburg child sex charges case

Blacksburg Police say they’ve arrested a man on child sex charges.

Investigators say a 16-year-old told police earlier this month that the teen’s supervisor at work was trying to solicit sexual favors from the teen.

Officers looked into the teen’s claim, and then arrested 39-year-old William Lewis Powell Jr. on Wednesday.  Police charged Powell with with Indecent Liberties with a Child in a Supervisory Relationship.

Powell has been released on a $5,000 secured bond.
