Marching Virginians will continue to build home

It’s an update to a community service project that was having some trouble.
After The Marching Virginians, a marching band at Virginia Tech, raised more than $41,000 to build a Habitat for Humanity home in the New River Valley, the band was afraid they would not meet their project deadline.
The problem came after Habitat and the band couldn’t agree on a place to build for their spring project.
Now, the band is teaming up with the Town of Blacksburg and Community Housing Partners to build a home beginning in May.
It will still honor Ryan “Stack” Clark, a band member who was killed in the Virginia Tech shootings on April 16th.
The band is hoping they can transfer the money they raised from Habitat for Humanity to the project with Community Housing Partners and the Town of Blacksburg.
