Nautilus may close Grayson Co. plant

The Nautilus plant in Grayson County could be closing in December, and leave 173-people without a job.

The senior vice-president says workers were served with a Warn Act notice this past Tuesday.  Nautilus company leaders are trying to sell the business.

The plant in Independence manufacturers fitness equipment.

Company leaders hope someone will buy the plant, and continue making Nautilus products under the company’s license.

If the company does not have a buyer by the end of December, the plant will likely shut down.

Nautilus says the market has been hit hard by the economy, and the company has been operating at a net income loss for a number of consecutive quarters.
