Radford Police arrest man after attack on pregnant girlfriend

RADFORD - A local man is behind bars after police say he attacked his pregnant girlfriend.

35-year-old Rodney Nelson is charged with aggravated malicious wounding of a pregnant woman.  He’s being held in the New River Regional Jail without bond.

Police say they got a call for help in the 1700 block of Grove Avenue in Radford late Saturday night.  When they arrived, they found 28-year-old Stormie Minnick seriously hurt.

She was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she is in serious condition.

Minnick is seven months pregnant.
