RU to offer doctor of nursing practice degree

Radford University will soon offer a doctor of nursing practice degree to students online.

On Tuesday, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia approved the university’s proposal for the program.
   
This is the fourth time in a one-year period Radford University has received the green light for a graduate-level program.
   
It will be the first of its kind to offer a doctoral degree to post-baccalaureate and post-masters degree nursing students.
   
The first admitted students are scheduled to start online classes in the fall of 2010.

In the meantime, the university is looking for a department head and director of clinical education.
