Trooper talks about being shot during chase

“There was somebody trying to leave the residence, flee the residence to get away from us and we don’t know why”

“He was travelling real fast on that road. I had to slow up to make the curves.“

“He immediately exited the vehicle and ran into the woods. I notified dispatch the pursuit had stopped and then I went in after him.“
 
“I looked up and saw that he was behind a tree and started to fire at me.“
“I don’t know which shot it was that hit. The first, second, third or what.  I just remember several shots and then the burn in my neck and I could hear the shots go past me in a whistling sound through the woods.“

“I was more concerned because I was by myself.  I didn’t know where he was anymore.  I knew he was armed and he was trying to kill me.“

“The way I ducked and the way I moved was the only way I could have moved without getting hit or struck by any other rounds.  This one right here was just one that barely got me.“
