Suspect in Grayson Co. Triple Murder Being Brought Back to Virginia

INDEPENDENCE, Va. (AP) - Grayson County authorities say the suspect in a triple slaying on a southwest Virginia tree farm is being brought back from Florida today.
    The county sheriff’s office says state and local law enforcement officers are bringing Frederick Phillip Hammer from Charlotte County, Florida to Virginia. He’s charged with three counts of capital murder in the slayings of three men in Grayson County, including the owner of one of North Carolina’s largest Christmas tree farms.
    Authorities have said Hammer fled to Florida after he was questioned after the bodies were found on Thursday.
    In North Carolina, Ashe County Sheriff James Williams says his investigators want to talk to Hammer in connection with the disappearance of a man who hasn’t been seen in nearly a year.
    Investigators say Ronald Hudler; his son, Frederick Hudler; and employee John Miller were shot to death during an attempted robbery on Ronald Hudler’s property in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, near the North Carolina border.
    Ronald Hudler’s farm supplied the White House Christmas tree in 1995.
