Two killed in Wytheville head-on crash
Published: October 25, 2009
WYTHEVILLE - State Police say two people are dead, following an accident on Chapman Road in Wytheville Sunday night.
Troopers tell us a Chrysler was traveling east, when it crossed the center line and hit a truck head-on. The impact killed Judy Camper and April McCallister, who were in the truck.
Officers say both Camper and McAllister were not wearing their seatbelts.
Rescue crews airlifted people in the Chrysler to the hospital. State Police did not release their names, or their conditions.
The crash closed both lanes of Chapman Road for about four hours.

My Heart goes out to the sisters family that were killed. Its so tragic to lose someone in this manner.
rw3885, fact they were not wearing seatbelts IS important to note. possibly they could have survived as the other victims have so far….
Had too much info been provided, would that have been wrong as well?
Frighting. Two people have lost their lives.Does it really matter if the seatbelts where used? I do use mine but it is so cold and rude to only note that. Its almost like we are to assume that this was a reason for this tragedy to happen.I would also like to add that several families in Wythe Co. have loved ones that drive a"Chrysler”.No year, color, nothing.I know that you can only report what you are told.WSLS didnt fail, but someone else did as far as being"informative”.
