Arrest made in Virginia Tech student attack

6:00 p.m.

Blacksburg Police arrested 24-year-old Warren Joseph McCabe, a Virginia Tech student, in connection with the attack on a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who was found lying in the middle of Ingles Court.

McCabe faces a malicious wounding charge.

He’s being held in the Montgomery County jail without bond.

Blacksburg Police tell us they’re investigating an attack on a Virginia Tech student.

Officers say friends of a 20-year-old young man found the student lying in the middle of Ingles Court, with severe injuries to his face, around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

EMTs took the student to Montgomery Regional Hospital.  He’s since been moved to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for additional treatment.

Police tell us the student is in stable condition.
