WUVT, Virginia Tech’s independent radio station is undergoing a broadcast transition
On Wednesday, May 20, the radio station will be hanging its FM and microwave antennas on top of Price Mountain in preparation for its new transmitter site scheduled to be complete in early June.
The station says, the new transmitter will increase WUVT’s broadcasting power from 3 Kilowatts to 6.5 Kilowatts
The station previously broadcast from the top of Lee Hall, an on-campus residence hall.
The building is now undergoing renovations and the radio station was forced to close the location where it was transmitting.
WUVT is now unable to broadcast on top of Lee Hall or its unfinished Price Mountain site during this time.
Temporarily, the station will be broadcasting on top of Squires Student Center at significantly reduced power.
This period of reduced power is expected to last up to four weeks.

Despite the station being on low power, it is still fully available via their webstream.  Go to www.wuvt.vt.edu and listen online.
