April 16th quilt presented to State Police
A group of quilters from Virginia, and others from states like Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania made it, according to troopers. A member of the group is the sister of a State Police Captain in Salem.

Danville concert honors Virginia Tech victims
Hearing Johannes Brahms’ “Requiem” at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Sunday rekindled memories for Virginia Tech alumni Fred Shanks.
“It was beautiful and a perfect selection for the occasion,” Shanks said after hearing the work performed by the Danville Area Choral Arts Society.
State Police update on the April 16th tragedy investigation
Investigators tell us new developments being reviewed in the case include the transcription of more than 450 telephone calls related to the incident.

Virginia Tech: A Day of Remembrance
Virginia Tech is planning a Day of Remembrance on Wednesday to honor the 32 students and faculty killed a year ago. Tech officials say the ceremonies will be simple, solemn and respectful. Classes have been canceled for the day. The events are open to the public, but parking will be limited and traffic will be banned from the road encircling the Drillfield where the two main events will be held, rain or shine.
