Blacksburg house dedicated to Ryan
Dozens came together to dedicate the house that was built in memory of the fallen Hokie, killed on April 16thAt 615 Cedar Hill Drive in Blacksburg you’ll see the house built in memory of Ryan “Stack” Clark; someone who built his life around helping others.
“This house we dedicate today is tangible evidence for the way Ryan continues to challenge each of us to extend our own reach,“ said Marching Virginians Director David McKee.
At the house dedication event, McKee told a packed audience that in October when a student first came to him with the idea, no one knew their vision of building the home would ever happen.
But, two weeks of non-stop pounding and 18-hundred hours later it’s a reality.
“Knowing that every nail and drip of paint was for him made the work easy,“ said Alison Wood who is a band member and also worked with Ryan building houses.
Ryan’s mom, Letitie, was also at the dedication. She thanked the town of Blacksburg, the Marching Virginians and everyone else who made the project possible.
“People are amazing and if we each give a little bit we get so much accomplished…just look at this beautiful home.“
