Jarrett Lane Memorial golf tournament raises money for scholarships
The second time was a charm for the first Jarrett Lane Memorial Golf Tournament.
Luckily, the rain held out and this time organizers didn’t have to cancel the event.
Dozens in Pembroke spent their day at the golf course for the memorial golf tournament.
Jarrett was one of the April 16, 2007 shooting victims at Virginia Tech.
48 people signed up on teams to honor the fallen Hokie.
It was held at Castle Rock Golf and Recreation.
All proceeds will benefit Jarrett’s memorial fund that helps send kids to college and camps.
We’re really excited about the event and glad everyone wanted to come out and support us, said Tracey Lane, Jarrett’s mom.
If you didn’t get a chance to play in the tournament and would like to make a contribution, donations to the fund can be mailed to:
