Danville woman charged in shooting

A Danville woman is facing several charges in connection with a shooting.

Danville Police say 49-year-old Francine Denis Brandon is charged with malicious wounding and using a firearm while in commission of a felony.

Officers were called to the emergency room at Danville Regional Medical Center around 10 a.m. Sunday.

A 42-year-old Martinsville man told officers he drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the leg on Lovelace Drive. He was treated for his non-life threatening injuries and released.

After further investigation, police charged Brandon. She is being held in the Danville City Jail under a $25,000 bond.
