Fire damages Showtime Apparel in Danville

A Monday night fire damaged Showtime Apparel at 254 Jefferson Ave. in Danville.

Thick smoke billowed out of a row of storefronts at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Jefferson Street on Monday shortly after 6 p.m. as Danville firefighters broke out a window and door to gain entry.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Shields, the fire started downstairs in the two-story structure.

Shields said the investigation into the cause of the blaze will continue Tuesday.
