Danville police say an armed robbery Friday night in a Lowes Drive parking lot was planned.

Lt. Mike Mondul, spokes-man for the Danville Police Department, said the manager of the Tokyo Grill was sitting in his car when he was approached by an armed suspect. The incident happened at about 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Lowes Drive.

“Police investigators believe the incident was a planned robbery which targeted the deposit money from the business that night,” Mondul said.

The suspect produced a gun and demanded the victim’s money, according to a news release from the police department. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and several personal effects from the victim and departed the area, police said. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and was wearing light blue jeans and a dark-colored shirt.
