The Holland Road woman found stabbed to death on Friday died from multiple sharp force injuries to the head and torso, a medical examiner has determined.

Brenda Marie Lewis, 40, suffered 19 wounds, the medical examiner in Roanoke reported to Danville Police on Tuesday.

Lewis and her 17-year-old son were found stabbed early Friday morning in the 700 block of Holland Road. Police found the teen lying in the road near Holland Baptist Church with non-life threatening stab wounds. He was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center.

When police got to the house, they found the mother lying on the ground in the front yard, apparently stabbed to death.
