A viewer complained last week that Barack Obama got too much coverage for his over seas trip.  Not so says this e-mailer, who writes:
(e-mail)
First, this WAS news, ...  Second, this was NOT a photo op for Senator Obama, but rather a fact-finding mission that would aid him in gauging our country’s standing in regards to the rest of the world. ... And finally, as this election cycle is destined to continue for several more months with coverage of both candidates a given, I would encourage the viewer to utilize the OFF button on his/her television remote rather than complain about what’s important to the great majority of us.

The term mentally retarded is offensive to many people, but it’s still used by many, including some professionals.  This viewer offered this insight.
(e-mail)
The politically correct term for individuals with a mental disability should be intellectual disability, Virginia has yet to change it in the laws under IDEA. However, they are working on making the change. What others need to understand that as it is right now, teachers graduating with a degree in special education still have the term Mental Retardation on their licenses. Also, people need to change their mind set to ‘People First.‘ For example, Joe has an intellectual disability not Joe is intellectually disabled.

And this viewer wants more war coverage and less, news about digital television.

I love the Channel 10 News.  I watch it every day, but I would like to see more coverage of the war and less about the change-over on the TV’s, that’s gonna be next year.  I think the country under war, there’s a lot more talk about a change in the TV signal.  Most days we hear nothing about the war…

In response to the response to viewer’s voice “First, this WAS news, ...  Second, this was NOT a photo op for Senator Obama, but rather a fact-finding mission that would aid him in gauging our country’s standing in regards to the rest of the world. ... “  I think what the other viewer was trying to bring up was the complete love affair that the news stations have with Obama, despite his lack of experience, shady background, frequently changing opinions, and reliance on big name celebrities to promote his inexperience.  McCain went abroad too, but did you hear anything about it?  Everyone is so infatuated with the hype that is Obama that they forget that only a few months ago, he wouldn’t salute the American flag.  Do you remember that John McCain was tortured for years for our country?  What has Obama done?  What real service has he provided?  Does anyone really know what he believes in?  The media needs to stop promoting all things Obama and show equal sides to the story.  Don’t fall for the hype.  I know I’m not.
