Rocky Mounty, Wytheville dogs to be featured on Virginia Lottery scratcher game

    There are a couple of lucky dogs from our area.
    Today, the Virginia Lottery announced the 20 winners of the “Virginia’s Lucky Dog” contest.  The dogs will be featured on Virginia’s Lucky Dog II Tickets.  The game debuts September 15.
    Of the 20 winners, one is from Rocky Mount and the other is from Wytheville.

Sadie is from Rocky Mount.  Marty Mitchem is her owner.

Chase is owned by Stacey Jones of Wytheville.  Jones says in a news release from the Virginia Lottery that Chase has been photographed so many times that he actually poses.

    The winners were selected from more than 9,100 photos uploaded tothe Virginia Lottery’s “virtual dog park” by owners.  You can check out all of the winning photos at http://www.valottery.com/promotion/luckydog/drawings.asp.
