BATH CO. - The Democratic candidate for Governor, State Senator Creigh Deeds, voted Tuesday morning in his home county.

Deeds woke up early, arriving to the poll in Millboro around 6:30 a.m.  Dozens of Bath County citizens showed up to vote and show their support for Deeds, including two women who gave Deeds a big hug outside the polling place.

Speaking with reporters after he voted, Deeds reiterated that the only poll that matters will be taken today (Tuesday).  Previous statewide polls have averaged a 14 point deficit for Deeds entering Election Day, according to poll tracking website RealClearPolitics.com.

Deeds then called this gubernatorial campaign “his life’s work.“

Deeds will end his day in Richmond to watch the returns with the rest of the Democratic ticket.

WSLS will have coverage from the Deeds campaign throughout the evening.
