Gubernatorial candidates Bob McDonnell and Creigh Deeds are making their last pitch efforts for the top seat of the state.
Deeds and McDonnell both appeared at church services in Hampton Roads this morning before enthusiastic crowds.
Deeds spent most of his day in that area, urging activists that turned out a year ago for President Obama to come out again.
Deeds says, “We just have to get people engaged we working as hard as we to reach out to new voters and old voters”
McDonnell addressed a noisy crowd in Chesapeake, who were excited over the idea that they could win their first major statewide race in 9 years.
The polls show that McDonnell has a 12 point lead over Deeds, but he says numbers don’t matter.
“They really don’t.. it’s made us feel encouraged that we’ve been up double digits but that’s only given us the feeling that we are on the right track”
McDonnell later stopped in the Shenandoah Valley and Loudon County.
