Storm Team 10 Meteorologist Jeff Haniewich can be seen during WSLS 10 On Your Side at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00. Jeff joined Storm Team 10 back in October 2003 from our sister station WNCT in the Greenville/Washington/New Bern market in North Carolina. Jeff is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and knew very early on that he wanted to be one of two things...1) a professional baseball player (he gave up on that dream a long time ago) or 2) a meteorologist.

Hurricane Hugo initially sparked his interest in the weather back in 1989. Jeff graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elon College (now Elon University) in North Carolina and obtained his post-baccaleaureate degree in atmospheric science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys playing all sports, especially tennis and baseball, and spending time with his family and friends. He may very well be the biggest Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers fan this far from his native Cleveland. He is very happy and proud to call Southwest Virginia home now.
