Scott Leamon - WSLS10 Reporter
Email: sleamon@wsls.com
Scott Leamon is the morning reporter for Newschannel 10 Today from 5:30 to 7 a.m. every weekday. Scott came to Newschannel 10 from Myrtle Beach, where he was a nightside reporter at WBTW.
Scott's first goal is to visit every neighborhood in the Roanoke valley. He likes to meet people and develop contacts and sources for important story ideas. He believes with the help of his Roanoke area neighbors, he and his a.m. colleagues can provide you with the most informative morning show in the valley.
Scott's journalistic beliefs are simple. He believes in getting the story right above all. Scott tries to tell every story from the people's perspective, how the story affects you and your family, and what you can learn from the story to help you. Scott thinks of himself as not only as a journalist, but also as a storyteller. He strives to create warm moments every morning that you can take with you for the rest of the day.
Scott grew up in Athens, Tenn. His family still resides in the Volunteer State. Scott graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in December 1998. He also made a stop in Kentucky as a reporter before taking his former job in South Carolina.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys writing, working out at the YMCA, and running about 12 miles a week. He's also out most weekends meeting new friends and exploring all that Southwest Virginia has to offer.
Scott hopes to see you soon in your neighborhood. If you have a story idea you think Scott should check on, you can e-mail him here at sleamon@wsls.com.
