Hundreds turned out to River’s Edge to protest what they see as excessive government spending, and pending tax increases

Over 300 demonstrators came to the Rocky Mount Tea Party.  Protesters spoke out against recent government spending.

Those involved say they aren’t happy with how the government is spending tax payer dollars.

Some people are confusing their regular tax refunds with the stimulus payment. Those errors can cause delays up to a week in getting refunds.

Despite the fact that state and federal figures show that by the middle of February less people had filed their taxes than they had in previous years, many local tax preparers said they are seeing an increase in the number of early filers.

The expanding service is for taxpayers eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit
