Steven Branscome faces four felony charges in Mercer County West Virginia including malicious wounding of a police officer.

Steven Branscome had three separate court hearings in West Virginia today.

Preliminary hearing for malicious wounding charge of state trooper postponed.  Branscome remains in West Virginia jail.

Steven Branscome, who police say shot a Virginia State Trooper, was found at a hotel in Texas on Sunday morning. He had been on the run for more than a week, but he didn’t give up easily.

Developing Story: State Police say Steven Branscome, the man accused of shooting a Giles County State Trooper, has been arrested after a brief standoff at a hotel in New Boston, Texas.

Althought the truck matches the description of one state police said went missing from Floyd County earlier this week, investigators declined comment on its potential relation to fugitive Steven Branscome.

Police are everywhere in Floyd County, but the person they’re looking for is nowhere in sight.

State Police say they are almost 100% positive that Trooper shooting suspect Steven Branscome has received help in hiding and running from the dozens of officers searching for him.

Developing Story: Police in Iredell County, North Carolina are investigating to see if a truck found near Interstate 77 in Statesville, NC is the same truck that was taken from a Floyd County, Virginia tree farm on Wednesday.
