When American Legion Post 325 finished playing last summer, Reggie Keen figured he’d likely never play again at Dan Daniel Park, a field where he participated countless legion and high school games. Keen, however, added a few more at his hometown field as his Radford Highlanders beat Charleston Southern 6-1 in the opening round of the Big South Conference tournament.

ACC athletic directors keep 8 conference game schedule
The idea of a ninth league football game has some merit in that it would create the opportunity for more intriguing non-divisional match-ups. But there was one drawback that trumped all. A nine-game conference schedule inherently means that teams would play five home games some years and four home games some years.

Construction begins in earnest on VT basketball practice facility
The 56,000-square-foot facility will include two full-length courts, a weight room and men’s and women’s locker rooms. It is being built on the tennis courts next to Cassell Coliseum and should open in August 2009. The total project cost is $21 million.
