Two local Hokies softball players transferring

A shocking development for Virginia Tech’s softball team, involving two local players.

In a news release, Coach Scot Thomas says sophomore pitcher Abbie Rexrode and outfielder Hollee Warlitner plan to leave the school after the fall semester.

Rexrode followed in the footsteps of fellow James River High School grad Angela Tincher in going to Tech. She was considered one of the Hokie’s future aces.

Warlitner is a freshman from Alleghany County.
