Hokies Thorns to Transfer

The Hokies will lose a familiar face this offseason as point guard Hank Thorns has been released from his scholarship and intends to transfer. The sophomore guard out of Las Vegas appeared in 65 games for Virginia Tech, starting 15 of them.  He averaged nearly four points and 3 assists per game for his career.
“Hank has been a tremendous asset to the program,” head coach Seth Greenberg said. “We appreciate all he has done on and off the court as a student, a leader and as a teammate. We wish him well in all his future endeavors.”
“My two years at Virginia Tech have been a great experience,” Thorns said. “I appreciate everything that Coach Greenberg and the coaching staff have done for me. I want to find a situation that will allow me to have a greater role. I will miss Virginia Tech and all of my teammates.”
