UVA Coaches at Roanoke Country Club

The Virginia Athletics Foundation held its annual Roanoke/New River Valley Social at Roanoke Country Club on Wednesday night. Head Football Coach Al Groh and new Head Basketball Coach Tony Bennett were on hand as well as UVA Quarterback Vic Hall. Coach Bennett talked about what to expect from his team style wise this coming fall. He took an immediate dose of negative recruiting because of the deliberate style of offense in his background, but he assured all that they will play a sound fundamental game that begins with defense, but there will be plenty of opportunities to score the basketball. Coach Al Groh talked about what a difference a year makes on the quarterback front. Last year at this time, no experienced QB’s….this year—three. He spoke of Hall and how he’s clearly “in the mix” for what should be a spirited fall competition.
