Virginia Tech to face Iowa in 2009 ACC-Big 10 basketball challenge

The Hokie men will take on national basketball powerhouse Iowa in the upcoming ACC-Big 10 basketball challenge.

The conferences announced the full schedule Wednesday. Virginia Tech will play at Iowa on December 1st. The game’s time, and whether or not it will air on TV are still being worked out.

The ACC has won each of the ten overall challenges since they began. Duke is 10-0 in that stretch. The Blue Devils and Boston College (3-0) are the only undefeated teams in the challenge.

Other matchups in the 2009 challenge include:

Nov. 30th

Penn State at UVA - The Cavs last played against the Nittany Lions back in the 1984-1985 season. Virginia holds a 5-2 series lead.

Maryland at Indiana
Michigan St. at UNC
Northwestern at N.C. State
Wake Forest at Purdue


Dec. 2nd

Boston College at Michigan
Duke at Wisconsin
Florida State at Ohio State
Illinois at Clemson
Minnesota at Miami
