Hokies get commitment from Midlothian’s Matt Arkema

Virginia Tech received an oral commitment Monday from Midlothian offensive lineman Matt Arkema, according to recruiting Web site Rivals.com. He is the Hokies’ 10th overall commit for 2010.

Rivals reported that the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Arkema informed Tech’s coaches of his decision during a visit.

Arkema is the third offensive lineman in the Hokies’ 2010 class, joining Rockbridge County’s Caleb Farris and Fork Union’s Mark Shuman.

His other BCS offers came from Maryland, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.
