Our championship city, Salem, is busy crowning another national champion this weekend.

This week we’re back on the hardwood for the 14-and-under girls AAU basketball title.

37 teams will battle over the next five days, and there will be one survivor left on Sunday.  They will earn the title as national champion.

In the field are a number of local squads including the Franklin County wolfpack.  They’ll open Wednesday versus the Indiana outlaws at 10:30.

Games will be held at the Salem Civic Center, Roanoke College, Andrew Lewis Middle, and Salem High School.

The Botetourt outlaws, Roanoke stars, and Virginia explosion are among the other local teams in action.
