Virginia Commonwealth University men’s basketball coach Shaka Smart got his second commitment today, landing 6-4 guard Troy Daniels of William Fleming High School in Roanoke.

Daniels was a first-team all-state player at the Group AAA level by the Virginia High School Coaches Association. He scored 17 points per game this season.

Daniels said he visited VCU last weekend and also received interest from Marquette, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, Marshall and Cincinnati. He said he likes the fit at VCU, as well as the proximity to his home in Roanoke.
