Virginia Tech's softball team proves they can come back against some of the nation's top teams.

The Hokies defeated Louisville and Tennesse to move on in the NCAA softball tournament this weekend.

The Hokies won a 10 inning pitchers duel on Friday 1-0 over Louisville. They then lost to #13 seed Tennessee in the opening game on Sunday 7-1, then rallied back to win 4-2 in the nightcap.

The second game's turning point happened as a rain delay was about to end. According to Virginia Tech's official athletic site, Hokiesports.com, a Tennessee official accidentally played Metallica's "Enter Sandman," which fired up the Tech dugout. The song is the unofficial second fight song of the Hokies' sports teams.

After the rain delay ended, Misty Hall hit a two-run home run to put the Hokies up 2-1. The Hokies scored two more times in the inning, and eventually won the second game with Tennessee 4-2.

This will be the first time in school history that the Virginia Tech softball team has advanced to the Super Regionals. They'll play number #4 seed Michigan in a best of three series that starts on Saturday, May 24th. The games will be played at Michigan.
