It's not exactly a lot of time to rest on your laurels.

In fact, I'm not even sure the paint has dried on those laurels.

It's time for the Hokies to hit the road and begin the battle anew.

Tuesday, it's off to Oklahoma City and the NCAA College Softball World Series for the Hokies.

Before the players pulled out of Blacksburg, the parking lot was filled with well-wishers, family, and friends. And head football coach Frank Beamer was on hand, along with members of his coaching staff to pass along their good wishes.

The players say they're excited, yet motivated to accomplish even more in this storybook season.

"I think we feel good. We feel confident. We've played really well lately, and I think we have a lot to prove going into the world series, but we're definitely just excited to be there, and not taking it for granted," explains Virginia Tech All-American pitcher Angela Tincher.

The College Softball World Series opens at ASA Hall of Fame stadium in Oklahoma City on Thursday. The Hokies open with the Aggies of Texas A&M.

The other teams to qualify are the University of Florida, Louisiana-Lafayette, Alabama, Arizona State, UCLA, and Arizona.
