Junior offensive tackle Caleb Farris made a verbal commitment at the Maroon-White game to play his college football at Tech. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman choose the Hokies over Marshall and East Carolina. Farris says he's been dreaming about playing for the Hokies since he was 7 years old. Farris explained that Tech being about 90 minutes from his front door in Lexington was a big part of the decision. He says his family are big supporters of Virginia Tech as well.
Farris was a starter on the Rockbridge Co. state finals team his freshman season in 2006. He allowed no sacks as a sophomore in 2007. He explained that he's ready to come to Tech and get bigger and stronger, and get ready to play Division I football.
