William Fleming boys defeat John Marshall 65-62.
John Marshall's Tahir Little took the last shot, a 3-point attempt that bounced off the rim, and the William Fleming Colonels held on to beat the John Marshall Justices 65-62 in the Group AAA semifinal this afternoon at the Siegel Center in Richmond.
Justices senior guard Randall Ward hit a 3-point goal in the final minute to pull John Marshall within three, but the rally stopped there.
John Marshall junior forward Travis McKie led all scorers with 27 points. Ward had 19.
William Fleming senior Troy Daniels had 21 points. The Colonels will play for the AAA championship at the Siegel Center tomorrow at 8:45 p.m. against the winner of tonight's 9 o'clock game between Petersburg and King's Fork.
Fleming was the Group AA champion in 2007.

River Ridge District and Region IV rivals Salem and Hidden Valley needed two overtimes to decide their state Group AA, Division 4 boys basketball tournament semifinal this afternoon at the Siegel Center in Richmond. Salem advanced with a 60-54 victory.
Salem meets Courtland Saturday at 9 p.m. at the Siegel Center for the Division 4 championship.
The largest lead in regulation for either team was four points. Salem, the region runner-up, held the ball for last shots at the end of regulation and the first overtime.
In the second overtime, Stephen Barnette scored the first two field goals to give the Salem Spartans the cushion they needed to hold off foul-plagued Hidden Valley.
The Hidden Valley Titans closed to 56-54 on a 3-point field by Zach Barrett, but Salem's Stephen Barnette assisted on twin brother Reggie's field goal and Salem's Jerome Hairston sealed the win with a dunk with 25 seconds remaining.
Hairston led Salem with 21 points. Stephen Barnette scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Reggie Barnette had nine points and nine rebounds.
Barrett paced Hidden Valley with 25 points. Greg Coots contributed 12 points and nine rebounds.

Hidden Valley's reign as state champion came to an end at the hands of Turner Ashby Wednesday in the semifinals of the Group AA, Division 4 girls basketball tournament.
Turner Ashby of Bridgewater surrendered a double-digit lead in the third quarter but regained the momentum in the fourth to eliminate the two-time defending champions from Roanoke. Hidden Valley also was the Group AA runner-up in 2006.
Even sadder for the Titans was the news after the game that coach Brenda King died Tuesday night from cervical cancer. This was King's first year as coach. She took over for Mike McGuire, who left to become an assistant for the University of Richmond's women's team. King's illness kept her from coaching a game this season.
Kirby Burkholder paced the winning Knights with 17 points and dominated the boards with 18 rebounds, 11 on the offensive end.Kayla Osborne led the Titans with 14 points. Jordan McDonald added 10. Turner Ashby plays Loudoun County for the Division 4 title Saturday at 7 p.m. The Knights opened their season with a victory over Loudoun.
